The Red Barn Film Studies Series is moving to The Saugatuck Brewing Co. for January, February and March 2010.  The cozy Bier Hall located inside the Brewery will be the location of the Film Series for those cold winter months.  “We will still have Free Popcorn donated by CNJ Popcorn Co. as well as a suggested donation of $5.” commented John Hardy, the Film Series’ host.  “You can also order a beverage and even a sandwich while you watch one of the Top 100 Films of all time.  The seating will be tableside to make munching more comfortable.”  The program begins at 6:30 PM

The Red Barn Theater is holding a Fundraiser in the Bier Hall at The Saugatuck Brewing Company, 2948 Blue Star Hwy. in Douglas.  The event, organized by Al VerSchure and Lee VerSchure, will include an evening of entertainment by Delilah DeWylde and the Lost Boys, a raffle, discounted beverages and other surprises. 

To celebrate the upcoming Red Barn Players performance of “Always . . . Patsy Cline” written by Ted Swindley, the group will perform a few of Cline’s standards as a Sneak Preview of the show.

“SBC has been just wonderful in support of our organization.  We are also thrilled that Jay Hernly and Al VerSchure are co-directing this fabulous musical and that Delilah, The Lost Boys and Jackie Carpenter are starring in the show.” said Patricia Huyge, Producer of the musical.  “The level of talent available in our Lakeshore communities continues to amaze and we delight in showcasing local artists at The Red Barn Theater.”

Always...Patsy Cline

“Always . . . Patsy Cline” is based on the true story of Patsy’s friendship with a Houston housewife, Louise Seger, whom Cline met at a performance in 1961.  Their pen-pal relationship is the basis for much of the show. The musical is directed by Jay Hernly and stars celebrated entertainer Delilah DeWylde as Patsy Cline and Red Barn veteran Jackie Carpenter as Patsy’s friend, Louise Seger.
